The project is an exploration of the women body and expression through the Wax fabric. This “so-called” African fabric which is in fact European but used as an African flag of cultural identity. The names given to the fabric by the women of the market reflect social, cultural and political situations often related to women.

All the wax patterns used in this art piece are named after West African women expressions. Such as “the eye of my rival” or “You go out, I go out”, wearing them is also making a statement.
